Preparatory Meeting for a Youth Gathering
On Tuesday evening, Oct. 20, 2009, parish members representing the Church Council, the Ladies of Grace and the Youth Group, gathered at Mar Abraham Chaldean Church in Scottsdale, AZ with Msgr. Felix Shabi, the youth Director and coordinator in Phoenix to study the actual situation of our youth and to find a way to gather them together to bring them to church.
The meeting was fruitful and successful. During it, Ms. Margaret Gabriel gave a detailed description of the “Young Adults Program” that our church and parents are looking at to bring their young adult children back to active participation in the church. After that, Ms. Rena Petros gave a second description of the “Youth Group” according to our youth’s point of view and shared her team’s ideas and plans to bring a greater number of our young people to church through Bible study and social activities.
The third part of the meeting was to put things on real grounds. The planning for the “First Youth Gathering” was discussed and agreed upon. A “youth gathering” and “party” are being prepared for and will start in the middle of November.
Meanwhile, the “Youth Bible Study” given by Fr. Felix about the “Gospel of Matthew” started on Oct. 14, 2009 and will continue every Wednesday from 7:00-9:00 pm at Mar Abraham Church in Scottsdale.
The meeting lasted more than two hours. Everyone left with a task to complete in preparation for the “First Youth Gathering.” Several years have lapsed since our youth in Arizona have gathered together as one team.

اجتماع المجالس الكنسية في اريزونا
فينيكس / 19 اكتوبر 2009
اجتماع في مساء الاثنين 19 اكتوبر، 2009 في كنيسة مار اوراها الكلدانية كل من مجلسي كنيستي مار اوراها والعائلة المقدسة، بالاظافة الى اللجنة الجديدة لشؤون اللاجئين بفرعيها (أ ، ب) وذلك بحضور الاباء الكهنة الخوراسقف فيليكس الشابي والاب بولس الراهب والاخوات الراهبات كلوتيلدا قينايا وفرح.
تم في الاجتماع مناقشة عدة قضايا عملية لمتابعة شؤون اللاجئين تكميلا لاجتماع الشهر المنصرم والذي تتوج بتشكيل لجنة اللاجئين التابعة للكنيسة. في اجتماع اليوم تم التوصل الى اتفاق ما بين المجالس الخورنية واللجنة الجديدة للاجئين حول ادراة الامور واعطاء كامل الصلاحيات للجنة الجديدة لاتخاذ القرارات حول كيفية التعامل مع الوضع الذي يعيشه ابنائنا الوافدين الجدد.
اتت الحاجة الى مثل هذه الاجتماع بعد سلسة من الزيارات التي اجرتها اللجنة (أ) باشراف الاب بولس الراهب الى العوائل الجديدة حيث قامت اaللجنة لحد الان بزيارة 10 عوائل خلال اسبوع. والجدول مفتوح للزيارات باستمرار للاطلاع ميدانيا على العلاقة ما بين اللاجئين الجدد والمنظمات التي تمهد لها في المراجعات الرسمية وما الى اخره..
كما وتطرق الاعضاء بمناسبة تجمعهم الى قضايا اخرى مهمة تخص العمل الخورني والتعاون في خدمة الكنيسة بشكل اكثر التزاما وجدية للنهوض بواقع النشاطات الكنسية الى امام.
